Kansas - State of Crisis

With the exception of Senator Mary Pilcher-Cook and one or two others, Kansas legislators are placing the State of Kansas in a State of Crisis. Democrat liberals and statists have renamed themselves moderates (in the Dennis Moore fashion) and have joined the Republican Party.

One can look to the pulpits on Sunday to help identify the problem. "Faith and Works" is the sermon. In short, is what one believes and say say reflected in what one does? In short - are the votes cast in Topeka consistent with party affiliation and action?

Look at the Republican Platform:

2010 Republican State Platform
Preamble
The Kansas Republican Party affirms the Kansas Constitution in stating that “We the people of Kansas [are] grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious privileges.” Since man is created in God’s image, each person’s dignity, freedom, ability, and responsibility must be honored.
- We believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or disability.

- We believe in free enterprise and that individual initiative has brought this nation opportunity, economic growth, and prosperity.

Yet, KS has voted the largest spending budget and tax hikes in history in the middle of an economic crisis where businesses and people are fleeing the state and unemployment and failing schools are crushing communities.

Topeka has suppressed state sovereignty by voting for it in a non-binding resolution, then adopted Obamacare. see note below. They claim to be against tax hikes then vote them in when the public is not looking.

They have taken a page from John Kerry, "I was for it before I was against it."

- We believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

Republicans continue to Tax and Spend with Democrats growing government 26% in the past three years and raising taxes 18% in 2010.

- We believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

Topeka legislators continually take away individual rights to perform "fluff" for special interest groups and selective interest projects.
- We believe that government at every level has grown too large and is now a threat to the very rights it was designed to protect. We call on every elected official to eliminate government programs and reduce government spending at every opportunity.

Republicans and Democrats continue to tax, spend, and grow government at an alarming rate.

Every innocent human life is sacred. Every human being, born or unborn, has an inalienable right to life which cannot be infringed. We believe life begins at conception.

Topeka continues to violate KS Law by ignoring late-term abortion laws and failing to
pass laws that force institutions to abide by existing laws. Kansas continues to allow
abortions after 22 weeks and is the leading abortion state in the US.
