Can Republicans Comeback?
Horizons Lost – The Republic Ends
Benjamin Franklin, one of the founders of the Republic said: “We have given you a Republic. It remains to be seen if you will be able to retain it.” What was he talking about? Why is a reversal of the 2008 election unlikely, and irreversible?
In this Republic, the supreme power is held by the people and is given to their elected representatives and president. This Republic provides a society with equality between its members. Within the Constitutional Republic, elected representatives should be of equal status with those electing the individual, but they are not. Alexis De Tocqueville warned of an aristocracy within democracy, which is what has occurred over the past century.
The Democrat Party has given up on the ideals and principles that brought John F. Kennedy. The Republicans have given up on the ideals and principles that brought Ronald Reagan. Both preserved sovereignty. Both kept their oaths to the Constitution. Republicans and Democrats have left principle and ideals for pragmatics, a philosophy where liberty, sovereignty, and socialism looks the same – a constitutional hurdle of negative rights. Obama's lack of principle and devotion to the pragmatics of the ends justify the means led him to take on redistributive justice, by saying the Constitution is a document of negative rights is not one of them. (see video below)
Equality is no longer an individual right. Equality is now a system where some are more equal than others. The evolution of equality began with the concept of a central bank (the Federal Reserve Bank) and its evolution through a system of family and heir aristocracy. Others became more equal with the creation of a progressive income tax system that rewards the slothful as well as the needy and disabled. Still others are more equal when it comes to victims of hate crimes. Political speech and candidacy have evolved from the simple postings of Common Sense to a point where only the rich, the more equal, and connected can run for office. The system is devised so only the rich or well connected remain elected. Federal and state representatives no longer need funding from constituents; campaign donations come from special interests, as do the draft policies they represent.
What was a limited state and federal system under the Constitution’s Republic is now totalitarian control over the individual. The totalitarian state controls the minds of its subject through “benchmarking” education practices to replace the teaching of principle. The totalitarian state controls business, finance, the means of production (that which has not been forced to leave the country through punitive taxes and regulation). A Republic founded in Christian and Jewish teachings, both are systematically being outlawed.
Equality is no longer a term for equal opportunity, but a mantra for holding some groups more equal than others in a socialist, or Marxist application of “each according to their needs.” Health reform does not give coverage, but takes political power and responsibility. The concept of an Liberty Republic has lost its horizons, horizons lost. The Republic no longer looks east to the past and the Revolution; the precepts are corrupted and lost. The Republic can no longer protect the rights of the individual. There is no place in the future for the individual or individual liberty. It was not decreed by the God, nor was it demanded by the citizens. It was imposed on Saturday night meetings and deals cut in back rooms.
The Obama regime has declared the ends justify the means as the threat and the use of force is used to quiet descent and gain votes. In 2010, there will be a valiant attempt by Tea Party Patriots and Republic Loyalists to regain a sense of Constitutional direction. The personal life is dead in America, the neo-revolution of the statists have killed it.
The Republicans need 60 votes in the senate, a swing of 20 senators; this is an unattainable number with only 17 Democrat seats up for election. Only eight seats are considered close enough for Republicans to win. This results in 48 republican seats and 50 Democrat seats. The Republicans can begin to block super majority votes, but with the rhinos, little chance to stop or undo the statist agenda of the totalitarian policies of the federal government. In the House of Representatives, Republicans need 40 additional seats. As it stands now, Republicans may win eight additional seats, if the Kansas 3rd District is included.
In short, a reversal of the 2008 election is at best unlikely, and most likely irreversible. Some will cling to the hope some gains will be made in 2010 and the counter-statist revolution will be won in 2012, but this is not likely. The president has learned he can rule by decree without judicial or legislative checks and balances guaranteed by the Constitution which are ignored. Executive Order 13514 of October 5, 2009 put “Cap&Trade” into effect. EPA regulations will come forward after the first of the year mandating Cap&Trade without one vote being cast, for or against.
The Republican Party has lost its devotion to the meaning of its name – Republic and its purpose – Liberty. The GOP is pragmatic and infiltrated with statists nicknamed “rhinos.” It has pragmatically chosen to fight over abortion, but not seriously, in place of fighting for the Constitution and all of the Bill of Rights.
The elections of 2010 and 2012 will bring challenges for the tyranny of the totalitarian federal state. True liberals will resent the reemergence of autocratic authority and regret the false pretenses that led them to support federal totalitarian policies. Anti-war leftists will resent the continuing war and continuing spikes of sending troops into Afghanistan and other countries to fight what will be seen as “colonial” wars. In Copenhagen, leftist radicals violently protested Obama and the industrialized nations at a time when Obama was trying appear to give them everything they wanted. In fact, he intended to give them nothing. He, Al Gore, and his cronies will make billions off of this money scheme that will not save the planet from global climate warming. Every American has the opportunity for medical coverage today! Disabled qualify under Medicare. Those who do not have care plans choose not to have them. Prior conditions and state lines, both manufactured by legislation intervention can be best repaired by legislators backing off. After all, they have ignored the problems for decades. Like global warming, government health reform is a means to an end. At what cost will the left give up their ideals?
Liberals will not be the only group resentful of the 2010 and 2012 elections. Conservatives, those who took their oaths to the Constitution, Tea Party Patriots, and libertarians will resent the reemergence of autocratic authority and will resent the false pretenses that allowed a minority to gain control of the Republic and replace the Constitution. The statists do not need to decree the Constitution unconstitutional; they already have by ignoring it through legislative and executive directives and mandates. The question becomes, at what cost will the Republic’s patriots give up their ideals? For the Republic to survive, all elected officials need to reaffirm their oath to defend and protect the Constitution and place it be for all others except God.
